ROYEL OTIS RELEASE TWO BONUS TRACKS FROM PRATTS & PAIN - “CLAW FOOT” + “MERRY MARY MARRY ME”

OUT TODAY VIA OURNESS

“OYSTERS IN MY POCKET” AND “MURDER ON THE DANCEFLOOR” LIKE A VERSION COVER GO GOLD

CURRENTLY TOURING IN THE USA, PLUS NEW EUROPEAN & UK SHOWS ANNOUNCED

Sydney’s globally skyrocketing duo Royel Otis today release two bonus tracks from their Top 10 ARIA-charting debut album PRATTS & PAIN - the fizzy “Claw Foot” and giddy “Merry Mary Marry Me” - available now via OURNESS.

This new single bundle includes the skipping-pace optimism of “Claw Foot”, a strength in numbers chorus and call to face life’s obstacles head on - to stop procrastinating and giving into every wish and whim along the way. The grunge-tuned sway of “Merry Mary Marry Me” is an introspective anthem that comments on watching everyone around you settling down with their lives, and feeling like you're falling behind because that reality feels so far out of reach.

Produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Dan Carey (Wet Leg), PRATTS & PAIN is the first jewel in the crown for Otis Pavlovic and Royel Maddell. The album debuted at #1 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart, #1 on the Top 20 Vinyl Albums Chart, #10 on the ARIA Albums Chart and received 4 star reviews from UK tastemakers Dork, Clash and NME (alongside magazine covers at home and in the UK), with Royel Otis reaching #1 Most Played Artist at US college radio across music specialty shows. They took the record on a sold out 15-date headline tour, bringing the pair’s electric live show to fans nationally and proof of Royel Otis’ swift ascent into the upper echelons of indie royalty.

Handbraking towards psychedelic weirdness and dissonant noise, Royel Otis have no issue keeping all who listen on their toes. The duo hard launched into 2024 with a viral cover of Sophie Ellis-Bexter’s “Murder on the Dancefloor” for triple j’s Like A Version. The track has achieved Gold certification after peaking at #2 on ARIA’s Top 20 Australian Singles, and has since reached #9 on the US Billboard Alternative Airplay Chart and #6 on the Mediabase Alternative Rock Chart. The band’s 2022 single “Oysters In My Pocket” has also now received Gold accreditation.

PRATTS & PAIN’s global success follows the duo’s nomination as Breakthrough Artist for the 2023 ARIA Awards, alongside a debut performance at Splendour in the Grass and a rapturous sold out UK and European tour that included performances at Leeds and Reading Festival, Electric Picnic, Pukkelpop and more, all in support of their third EP, Sofa Kings. From cleaning up ‘Ones to Watch’ lists by the likes of GRAMMY, Matt Wilkinson at Apple Music 1, NME and the Daily Telegraph, to gaining fans in Zane Lowe and BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders and being featured in Vogue and GQ, Royel Otis have proudly amassed over 200 million streams to date across their expanding catalogue.

The band’s 2023 EP Sofa King was quick to receive international and local press adoration from Paper Mag, Purple Sneakers, NME, plus consistent airplay from international stations such as BBC Radio 1 and Apple Music 1. The titular track, "Sofa King" peaked at #25 on the Billboard US Alternative radio charts, while on home soil, saw the duo hold the status of triple j’s #1 Most Played track, and closing out the year as the #8 Most Played Artist on the station.

Currently, Royel Otis are in the United States for their debut sold out tour between capital cities until May 2024, before landing in Barcelona for Primavera Festival and Porto for NOS Primavera Sound. Newly announced, the pair will continue to tour the UK in July, before returning to the US in October for an extensive European and UK tour through December.

Relive the energetic glory of PRATTS & PAIN today, as Royel Otis share two new bonus singles and continue to reign on a high throughout 2024.
