‘Ethereal' is the latest dreamy single to be lifted from Dulcie’s forthcoming debut EP Sake Of Sound out June 18. Proving they are as savvy as they are talented, Sake Of Sound will be released via their very own label imprint, Lapis Lazuli.  The Perth all girl indie-pop band, have also been announced as one of the support acts for a number of Tyne-James Organ shows around the country this June and July.

Dulcie member Ash, describes how the melodic track came to life, “Ethereal’ originally started out as a poem. I was snorkelling down South and was struck by how many different types of fish were all living together in harmony. It made me think about us as people and all our differences and the hope that we can see past these & accept people for who they are with no judgement. To start, I had the words, “What a beautiful thought, to think that we are all equal, we are ethereal souls, masquerading here as people” and then after a bit more work it migrated from poem to song!”

‘Ethereal’ is accompanied by a gorgeous music video directed by Duncan Wright (San Cisco, Carla Geneve) and follows their previous single ‘Dust’. Dulcie have received praise from a plethora of Australian media outlets including Pilerats, Women in Pop, NME, Triple J, Music Feeds, AU Review and many more.  They have also most recently been named Western Australia Music Awards nominees for most popular act and most popular live act.

‘Ethereal’ will join ‘Dust’ along with two previously unreleased tracks on Sake Of Sound. On the debut EP, Dulcie enlisted the production prowess of fellow WA musical alumni Joel Quartermain, of legendary Eskimo Joe, who’s illustrious list of production credits include Meg Mac, Dan Sultan and Merci, Mercy.

Dulcie have also been turning heads in the wider Australian music scene with Ocean Alley dubbing their soulful debut single ‘Fall’ their favourite track of 2019 and the band also adding Dulcie and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets as supports through August and September. Further on the live front, Dulcie recently wrapped up Birds Of Tokyo support slots for their Fremantle Prison gigs in WA. X-Press Magazine praised Dulcie’s stage presence, “there is a symbiotic relationship between the band and crowd and when it’s so clearly presented like Dulcie, the crowd cannot help but be pulled into that energy”  In celebration of the release of their EP, Dulcie will perform live for fans around Australia as one of the support acts for a number of Tyne-James Organ shows this June and July. Dulcie’s harmonies have already made a mark, be ready for a whole lot more from these girls in 2021, the ride has only just begun.
