Following the release of her last two singles in 2020, Serbian singer/songwriter Maja has dusted off the COVID cobwebs with her brutally honest single ‘Dead Inside’, released April 16th; ahead of her debut album,“I’ll Get There.”

Dead Inside is a powerful, moving single about believing in yourself when no one else believes in you. It’s about navigating the darkness with the light and hitting a wall in your career where you feel helpless but not unstoppable. The lush strings and harmonies demonstrate the ebb and flow that the journey ‘Dead Inside’ takes you on.

He says it’s not my dream if it’s killing me but I’m not the one who’s dead inside.”

Maja says “I came out of a relationship that had ended and I was looking outside myself, and I was looking in the wrong place. I am very much a truth teller and I have definitely made my exes/people face their shadow.”

“He’ll only listen to your talk about astrology and your poetry if he’s in the picture and I’m not another hipster, I poured my heart into these words.”

“It’s really a song about adversity and the waves of life that we experience.”

The album “I’ll Get There”, due for release in June 2021 is very observational and Maja says“ pokes fun of my environment and the people around me.”

“I wrote this album when I was 24 and living in Brunswick and I took this hurtful line and turned it into something empowering because the only people who tell you to give up on your dreams, are people who have given up themselves. I want my audience to feel empowered from it.”
