“Melbourne people are so cool and hot”, I hear my American friend say as we enter the gates of Sidney Myer. Yes, they are, particularly in the DJ realm for some reason. My friend and I go on to debate this topic later in the evening - why are people in techno so hot?

I saw Spacey Jane for the first time in Brisbane, in 2018. I remember thinking ‘this band will take off because they use the stage really well. That’s a sign of a great band–they make use of the stage.’ Nothing has changed - in a good way.
THE HIVES LIVE AT THE FORUM 19/7/25
The Hives are the best live band in the world and they know it. There was no manufactured humility Saturday night as they made their triumphant return to Australia nearly a decade after their last visit. Australian punk rockers ‘Split System’ ran a blistering set of raucous tunes in support, capably engaging in short, fast, loud exposure therapy, preparing the crowd for the oncoming event.

The anti-colonial Irish hip-hop group, Kneecap, came all the way from Belfast to absolutely smash up Melbourne’s stage at 177 Russel St. They are loudly anti-colonial and Pro Palestine; they aren’t here to fuck around.
