SINGLE REVIEW: TIM AYRE - MEXICAN HOLIDAY

Tim Ayre (1).jpeg

Sydney-based musician, composer, and vocalist; Tim Ayre’s latest single ‘Mexican Holiday’ is
an indie dream. The vibrant keyboard introduction abruptly starts the song off, transporting
you to a world of wanderlust and makes you tap along to the catchy beat instantly. Tim’s
soft, mellow vocals cut through the sound and paint a virtual picture of relaxation.

This is the first single off the upcoming EP ‘Morden Life’ and captures a similar energy to his
previous single, ‘California Dreamin.’ Tim evokes a feeling of nostalgia with the soothing and
optimistic pop beat.

The release is accompanied by a retro-inspired lyric video, that shows a charismatic side of
Tim and is directed by Cannes Film Festival Finalist, Ollie Birt.

The track itself is inspired by Tim’s friend Paul who went on holiday to Mexico in 2014 and
never ended up coming back. “He ended up deleting all his social media and I haven’t really
heard from him since,” Tim said. “I planned to try and find him last year… but COVID hit, so
this song is about the trip that could have been.”

Truly a single for the senses!
